Mommy Makeover For Spring

A mommy makeover is a bespoke collection of surgical solutions to address physical changes that occur during pregnancy. A baby brings some of the purest joys life has to offer, but they sometimes do so at the cost of our aesthetic contours. With bikini season just around the corner, we all want to feel attractive, sexy, and confident in our bodies. While a gym membership and a  keto cookbook might promise slimmer curves by July, they only deliver underwhelming, time-draining results for many of our patients. Further to this point: many aesthetic conditions like uneven breasts, excess skin, and subcutaneous fat won’t be remedied despite rigorous exercise and a perfect diet. But a Mommy Makeover this spring will–just in time for that beach vacation. The experts at Plastic Surgeons of Lexington are proud to offer their clientele customized Mommy Makeover procedures to alleviate the mars of motherhood and bring out your natural beauty. For those interested in learning how a Mommy Makeover can revitalize your whole appearance, please schedule a personal consultation at our Lexington offices. Before and After Photos

The Post-Baby Body

If we gloss over the sleepless nights, the tantrums of the terrible twos, and the unceremonious ritual of potty training, motherhood brings some of the best, richest moments we will have in our lives. We cherish the memories of motherhood long after our little babies grow up and venture out into the world. But this post-pregnancy period does bring many other, aesthetic changes to our lives. After giving birth, the skin around our abdomen might be loose or sagging. Unwanted fat deposits might linger on our love handles, thighs, or belly. Our breasts might sag lower with a diminished fullness, or they might have enlarged past a comfortable size due to breastfeeding. Looking in the mirror, we might notice our silhouettes have lost their sharp contours. To remedy these conditions, many mothers search for DIY solutions, gluten-free recipes, and core-centric workouts. Oftentimes, however, they are met with mixed results. Of course, diet and exercise are necessary for a long happy life, but they, unfortunately, won’t fix these conditions. The perfect solution to these is a Mommy Makeover.

Springtime Recovery For That Summer Bod

Spring rolls around in the middle of March. During this time, the kids are well into their school year but have a longing eye looking toward summer break. Similarly, the adults of the family will be looking forward to a well-deserved break from work. Luckily for you all, an overdue vacation is in your family’s forecast. While you plan out every last detail, you count the months until you can relax beachside or poolside. You want to feel confident in your body but don’t think there’s enough time to reclaim your attractive contours before you show them off to the world. Have no fear, moms of Lexington, there’s plenty of time left to change that! With a springtime Mommy Makeover, you can fully heal and recover in a matter of 3 to 6 months.

Mapping your surgery timeline, a Mommy Makeover in March will have you bikini-ready for a vacation in July. Those with a shorter recovery can see final results as early as May. Now, let’s say you’re on the longer end of that recovery timetable, and it takes you five months to see your final results. You’ll still be beach-ready by August! So, don’t wait! The first step to your vacation body is to schedule a personal consultation at our Lexington offices to learn more about how a Mommy Makeover can accentuate your natural contours.

Lost Breast Volume

During pregnancy, our breasts grow to large, often uneven, sizes. After a couple of months, they usually cease lactation but never regain their pre-pregnancy  shape and fullness. To address undesirable conditions in the breast, we include three breast procedures in our Mommy Makeover package. Depending on how content you are with your breasts, we may perform one or multiple procedures during your makeover.

Breast Augmentation

To help mothers gain additional fullness in their breasts, we offer breast augmentation. Culturally coined as a “boob-job”, breast augmentation gives patients perkier, fuller breasts with the help of either silicone or saline implants. For years, breast augmentation has been one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures because of its effectiveness in improving a woman’s confidence in her body. Today, it still stands as one of the top 5 cosmetic surgical procedures in the country.[1]

Breast Lift

Due to either motherhood, age, or a combination of the two, our breast tissue loses its elasticity. This loss causes our breasts to hang, sag, and droop from their natural, younger position. To help mothers bring their breasts up to a higher position, we often include a breast lift in our Mommy Makeovers. In a breast lift, we extract the excess breast tissue and lift the breast higher on the chest to naturally rest in a perkier position. This procedure alleviates the signs of ptosis in the breasts and gives mothers a younger appearing profile.

Breast Reduction

For some mothers, the baby-weight in their breasts disappears shortly after giving birth. However, for many, their breasts linger at this enlarged size for years to come. Many women say their breasts look disproportionate on their frame as they find it difficult to wear normal clothes and participate in athletic activities. Most if not all of these women also say their large sizes cause their chronic shoulder, back, and breast pain.[2] To help women achieve more proportionate, pain-free breasts, we offer a breast reduction. During a breast reduction, we carefully sculpt away the superfluous mammary tissue to better fit your breast to your frame. For many of our clients, this procedure not only alleviates their chronic shoulder and back pain but also gives them a breast size they are more confident with.

Excess Abdominal Skin & Diastasis Recti

After having children, our belly might have loose, unwanted skin. There might be a bulge in the center of our abdomen or flaps of skin hanging over our waistline. While diet and exercise can strengthen our muscles, they can’t address the excess skin veiling them. In addition to unwanted skin, our abdominal muscles might not be as strong as they were. In the final stages of pregnancy, the third-trimester fetus puts so much internal pressure on our abdominal walls it causes them to separate. The two vertical walls of our abdominal muscles split from their connective tissue. This condition is called diastasis recti and can cause weak pelvic floor disorders like incontinence. In fact, mothers are three times more likely to suffer from incontinence than non-mothers of the same age.[3] Diastasis recti is oftentimes the cause for such conditions.

Tummy Tuck

To expertly remove all the excess abdominal skin and restore your core muscles, we are proud to offer a tummy tuck procedure. By making an incision any bikini line can hide, we can remove the overlapping skin tissue and suture the separated muscles back into their original placement. As you relax in that summertime sun, you can show off a more toned, defined abdomen that is fortified with stronger core muscles.

Unwanted Fat

After the initial baby weight disappears, some areas may still have unwanted fat that is unresponsive to diet and exercise. This fat is subcutaneous and rests just under the skin and on top of the muscle. Because it serves a wide array of purposes to keep the body safe and healthy, subcutaneous fat lingers on our bodies long after we’ve reached our goal weight.

Liposuction

To carefully extract fatty tissue from its connective tissues, we use advanced liposuction techniques. By moving a thin aspirating tube, called a cannula, back and forth between the fat lobules, we physically remove the fat cells while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. Because of how easy it is to add to another body contouring procedure, liposuction is a popular request for Mommy Makeovers.

BBL for Shapeless Backside Contours

To feel confidently sexy in a variety of body-hugging outfits, a shapely silhouette is almost standard nowadays. But these contours, especially our butt’s shape, are difficult to achieve through diet and exercise alone. To give our clients a naturally boosted backside, we offer a Brazilian butt lift (BBL). During a BBL, we use liposuction to take unwanted fat tissue from one part of the mother’s body. After rinsing and purifying the fat, we relocate it to her backside, adding an even lift and noticeable volume to her butt.
