NeoGraft for Women

It may come as a surprise, but women make up roughly 40 percent of people suffering from hair loss in America. Hair loss can be a difficult thing to deal with and can play a major impact on self-confidence.  There are several contributing factors to female hair loss:

  1. Genetics- thinning hair or Female Pattern Baldness is something where heredity is a major contributing factor.
  2. Trauma- When your body goes through something traumatic (physically or emotionally) or you experience extreme stress, it can cause you to lose handfuls of hair. Sometimes this only lasts 3-4 months after the stressor occurs, but for some people, it can become a chronic disorder.
  3. Medical Conditions- Certain medical conditions, such as pregnancy, thyroid disorders and anemia can cause women to experience thinning hair. In some cases, even menopause can be a factor.
  4. Dramatic Weight Loss- Someone who loses a significant amount of weight over a very short period of time may experience thinning hair.

The average person loses about 50-100 hairs per day.  If you think you might be losing more than average, start to notice how much hair you are losing after sleeping, showering, and brushing or styling your hair.

We’ve talked about NeoGraft,  which uses the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method, the NeoGraft Automated Hair Transplantation Device removes individual hair follicles from the scalp in their naturally occurring groupings (about 1-4 hairs). Once removed, the follicles are then placed in the areas of the scalp where thinning or balding or thinning occur.  This is the least invasive procedure for hair transplantation and causes little to no discomfort for the patient. Because there are no stitches, staples, or linear scarring the results are much more natural looking.  In addition, the recovery time is shorter with fewer restrictions on normal day-to-day activities.
